Leaf morpho-physiology and phytochemistry of olive trees as affected by cultivar type and increasing aridity

چکیده
The olive species (Olea europaea L.) is an ancient traditional crop grown under rainfed conditions in the Mediterranean Basin. In response to growing national and international demand for oil, cultivars are introduced into highly arid new bioclimatic areas. Subsequently, morpho-physiology phytochemistry of trees potentially changing among cultivar types geographical conditions. present work, we have undertaken assessment on impacts location leaf trees. Thus, leaves two most cultivated tree varieties, Chemlal Sigoise, were collected from three regions (Setif, Batna, Eloued) with increasing aridity Algeria. Leaf samples analyzed using standard physiological experiment, colorimetric method, a chromatography assay. Leaves both exhibited significant variance terms shape index but not tissue density, specific weight, area. Photosynthetic pigment contents affected by type location, lowest content recorded Sigoise Setif region. Compared Batna regions, dried Eloued region showed higher levels total polyphenol, flavonoid, tannin, as well better antioxidant capacity. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis all extracts identified following phenolic acids major compounds: oleuropein, naringin, apigenin-7-O-glucoside, kaempferol, quercetin, quercitrin, luteolin-7-O-naringenin, quinic acid. Lower found p-Coumaric acid, trans-Ferulic hyperoside, rutin, apigenin, caffeic protocatechuic o-Coumaric gallic Also, epicatechin catechin+ cultivar. organic displayed promising anti-cancer activity that was solvent polarity. Briefly, although soil mineral deficiency morpho-physiological parameters, sustained chemical richness, good antioxidant, anti-tumoral capacity leaves. Furthermore, findings revealed regardless genotype, there impact morpho-physiology, bioactivity, composition, which may consequently modulate growth oil production

Physiology of Plants Affected by Ageing
Objective: Ageing of the stored seed is a natural phenomenon and the seeds tend to lose viability even under ideal storage conditions. Accelerated ageing has been recognized as a good predictor of the storability of seed lots. Aged seeds show decreased vigor and produce weak seedlings that are unable to survive once reintroduced into a habitat. The characteristics of the chemical composition of...

متن کاملSodium replacement of potassium in physiological processes of olive trees (var. Barnea) as affected by drought.
Potassium (K) is a macro-nutrient understood to play a role in the physiological performance of plants under drought. In some plant species, sodium (Na) can partially substitute K. Although a beneficial role of Na is well established, information regarding its nutritional role in trees is scant and its function under conditions of drought is not fully understood. The objective of the present st...

Self-compatibility of local olive (Olea europaea L.) accessions and of the cultivars "Frantoio" and "Leccino" was investigated in Garda Lake area, northern Italy. Intercompatibility was determined for "Casaliva," "Frantoio," and "Leccino," as well as the effects of foliar Boron applications (0, 262, 525, or 1050 mg.L(-1)) applied about one week before anthesis on fruit set, shotberry set, and o...
